As I traveled this past weekend a friend and I were listening to a message by Prophetess Juanita Bynum titled “my purpose in prayer”, if you have a moment you should check it out. Well, while we were listening to this message I remember hearing her talk about all of the instructions Moses received at the burning bush and she proceeded to talk about God wanting to meet with us but He only speaks to us at the place that He has called us to...
As I pondered this statement and paused the video and told my friend “I just saw something, Imagine the Lord sitting at a table waiting for you and you never show up.” In that moment it was a lot for me to take in. To fathom the thought of me standing the Lord up. It brought tears to my eyes as I hate missing God. That was only the beginning of a much needed weekend needless to to say. This weekend was a series of divine appointments with the Father, ending with an unexplainable encounter! That‘s a story for another time.
Anyway, I began to question myself. How many times before this had I stood up the Lord? How many times had I been to busy to meet Him where He had called me to? How many times have I told the Lord to just meet me in the places that were most convenient for ME? While I’m driving, or cooking, or cleaning or folding clothes? The more I pondered these questions the more and more repentant I had become.
See what was reiterated to me is that when God calls me to a place this place could change or impact my life in ways that a life time of putting God on my schedule would not do. When I think about all of the biblical encounters where God called a person or a people to a specific place for specific instructions, it was life altering no matter how inconvenient or uncomfortable.
Jesus himself had places that the Father called Him to, the most important place being the cross. Inconvenient, painful, embarrassing but world changing! Compared to Jesus, what is 3am, or lunch, or a weekend? If my life is poured out for the Father then I am on His time and my breakthrough or your breakthrough or my families breakthrough or my city or nation or international breakthrough is at the place that God calls me to...
Don’t flake on the Lord when He calls you to a place. Make haste, it is life altering!!!
