How Do I NOT Miss My Divine Appointment With God?

After my post yesterday I realized many may have some questions. How to not miss God? More specifically. The short answer to that question is, pray without ceasing.
“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV
Now lets dig into that a little. Yesterday we talked about not standing God up or meeting Him at the place HE calls you to. Many of us including myself talk to God on a fairly consistent basis but lets categorize those times. I want to talk about 3 prayer times and how 2 of them help us to not miss our appointed time:
Praying on the go - Praying on the go is what I mentioned yesterday, when we pray while we are driving, cooking, cleaning, moving around, bathroom, shower, etc. Most often for parents this is the time when you are usually alone and provides the most convenience.
Devotion - This is a time of day that has been set apart for you to meet with God and God to meet with you. This time is early in the morning before everyone is up, during your lunch hour, or late at night when everyone is gone to bed. During this time you are still enough to read, write, and pray.
The time God calls - This last time is the time that I spoke of in my blog yesterday. This time is the most inconvenient but could yield great reward. This is the time that God beckons you, maybe in the middle of the night, maybe He tells you to fast for a week, or give Him a weekend. He calls you to a specific place, at a specific time, for specific instructions.
The thing about it is all 3 times are necessary, they all create a never ceasing prayer life. The more you talk to God and create space for God in your life, the more sensitive you become to His voice. So how do they all go together?
During your on the go time He may draw your attention to a person or something specific in thought that you have not been thinking about, during your devotion time you are able to address those things more specifically and the time He calls He may release specific answers or instructions to those things. The more you get acquainted with God the more in sync and Holy Spirit led will your prayers become.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelations 3:20
See sometimes we are crying out for answers during our time with God and wondering why He isn’t responding. Could it be that He wanted to answer us at an appointed time? Did we need to sacrifice some convenience? During these times let us not harden our hearts but spring up with joy to hear from God.
while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” Hebrews 3:15
The more we talk to God the more we learn of Him and the clearer we can hear His voice. We are in a season that He is calling us to Himself and as my late grandmother use to say “When I call your name you don’t say huh, you come to me.” Pray on the go, pray and listen in devotion, and respond when He calls us to Himself.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7
I pray now that God would increase your desire for communication and intimacy with Him and that your times spent with Him are fruitful. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
God Bless you all, never stop pressing into His presence.
